Happy New Year! (almost)

This year has gone by so fast, so many things happened this year! I had many learning experiences, and I have made many life lasting memories. I ended my first year of middle school, and started my last year of middle school. I have met some pretty amazing people, and have grown a ton. I have done a lot of volunteering, and met a lot of people doing that. I have experienced the fun of going to physical therapy. I have had learned new skills. I have found a lot out about myself, and am still finding new things that I didn't know about myself everyday. I went to my first stake girls camp, and my first ward Youth Conference. I earned my medallion and I hope to earn my Honor bee tonight before midnight.

I have gotten better on the piano, and I also learned some guitar. This past year I have babysat a lot, and made more money. planned for EFY. I gave a talk this year and also played the piano in church. 

I went to California this summer, visited family, and went to Disneyland. 

I tried out doing craft camp this year, and It was successful. I was in the great kid awards, I collected over 100 bags of clothes for Haiti, I also collected other things...

I have done a lot this year, and I hope that I will be able to do even more in 2011. I want to make a difference in this world, and I'll do it one step at a time, as much as I can.

I got SO many presents, I was shocked! I was so surprised that my parents bought me a camera!!! I was supposed to go and buy one on Monday. WOW that was cool! I also got a curling iron. I really wanted that kind (the one they sell at the mall, that has no claspy thingy) I got that too! I got everything I couldn've dreamed for this year (and MUCH MORE!)

Saterday...

Saterday night  I went to the christmas concert at the Conference center. David Archeleda was AMAZING! I absolutely LOVE his voice! He is awesome!

The line was huge, but we got pretty good seats, they were on the side but they were almost on the floor. You could see very good. David's grandpa sat right in front of us! Coolio! 

I cant believe that christmas is just on saterday!! Thats insane! I cant believe it, I still have to get a lot of stuff....

New Glasses

I got my new glasses today! I got new frames and a new lenses for under $100! If that's not enough I picked them out and had them made in 45 min. It took him about ten minutes to make them! That guy's Amazing! While we waited for them to be done he showed us his gold glasses he had on, and showed us the diamond sunglasses. I got to put them on, I LOVED them, I felt like a movie star! I want those, but there just sort of expensive :P Well yep!

They are brown and have flower thingies on the side.. I LOVE them! Merry Christmas 2 Me!

Week

Gingerbread House Party!

SO yesterday we had a Gingerbread house party. We used to have it all the time, but we havn't had it in a while, so my mom decided (with a push from her sisters) that we needed to have it, so we did! It was a lot of fun!

Babysitting...

I just LOVE to babysit, It makes me happy!! Well this weekend I've been really happy!
I babysat till about 10:30ish on Thursday, then on Friday I babysat until about 930ish, then tonight I am babysitting until about 10ish also!!!
There are so many people who call like really late, but The Queen of calling me right before still reigns! :D 
Thanks to everyone who has me Babysit their kids! I really appreciate it!

History Test!

Who gives out a study guide and tells us to study it, then the test is nothing that was on the study guide! It bugs me! Some of the stuff we didn't even go over! My history teacher needs to make better study  guides and also better tests!

God meant life to be crazy so we can learn. Learn to serve others, learn to manage our time, learn to get a long with other people learn to not be so stressed out...
But I think God did know that we would all also get stressed out and go insane sometimes... That's why God made us friends, people who understand you no matter what/ if your talking or not! people you can complain to and they just complain about their stuff right back to you!

Conference

I had a SUPER conference weekend!! Did you?

I don't have a favorite talk this year, maybe I will once I read the talks over. Of course I LOVED when the prophet spoke, but who doesn't?

I also really liked the talk about teachers.

This conference was just plain out good!

BRAD WILCOX!!!

So as you can see, Brad Wilcox came to speak to the youth of my steak tonight! It was such a wonderful atmosphere there. I wish I  could stay there all night and listen to him! He carries the spirit so strong with him. IMy friend and I got front seats! Then afterwards I got to talk to him and give him a hug!!!! I hope I can always remember that...

Tutoring

So Today from 4-6 I Tutored!!! I absolutely LOVE it!!! Because the school year started they're a lot of new people, and a whole different program! I am probably going to be used most in the reading during the school year, which I am totally excited about. I love helping kids read, like I did today.I am excited to see how everything is going to work out this school year! Wish me luck!

SO I received 100% on my spelling test!!!

And I got 5 answers wrong on my science test (which was worth about 130 pts.) 

BUT I did correct them so I really only got 2.5 answers wrong!!!!

Personal Progress!

So I finished my Personal Progress today! I got these cool scripture ribbons.

Now I can start on my honor bee!

Personal Progress has strengthened my testimony so much. When I do it I

remember how much my heavenly father loves me. I don't have a favorite

project that I have done, but I REALLY liked reading the whole entire B.O.M.

from front to cover. while reading it I have learned how to apply the scriptures to get my medallion, but my bishop won't give it to me until my 14th birthday :p

which is only 128 more days, but he would give me my medallion on the Sunday

after it so I won't get it until hopefully 133 more days.
(I said hopefully because I don't want it to be later)

A lot of people think that doing Personal Progress is boring,
but you can make it a ton of fun!

I encourage all of the Young Women to work on their Personal Progress.
You will gain a stronger testimony.

I am SO grateful for the Personal Progress Program!

English

This year in English we have to read about 33 books by the end of the school year. Thankfully I love to read so this challenge will be pretty easy. So through-out the school year I will be reviewing the books I have finished on my blog. SO If you love to read I will be of help telling you what books are good :)

Oh and the book "New Boy" is historical Fiction...

New Boy

I finished a really good book this morning! It's called "New Boy" by Julian Houston.
It's about a black boy who gets into a white boarding school. The Boy works hard to get onto the honor roll at school. He has two friends a the school (which one of his friends isn't the best influence) His hometown is hard because The setting takes place in the 1950's so the blacks and the whites are still separated in the south. SO everything is separated in his hometown, and so It's different when he visits back home. I am not going to ruin everything, So I am just going to tell you to read the book. It's really good, It took me about 3 days to read it!

Money/ Goals

Still not a fan of science class!!

GUESS WHAT?! I have 3 baby-sitting jobs this week!!! I had one yesterday, and I have one tomorrow and one Saturday!!!

It's just getting worse and worse!

don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE science, but I don't like the way the teacher well, teaches. And the class is very disrespectful and rude. two of the students talked back to the teacher like a lot today!!!!

2nd day of school

So 1st, I'm not a fan of my science class. It SO bad compared to last years science class!!! Can I please take 7th grade science for 8th grade credit?!

2nd being an TA was fun, Even though I'm a TA for a high school creative writing class as I figured out :)

First Day Of School!

I just finished my first day at school. It was so crazy!!! It still isn't all the way soaked in... My class schedule is very different this year. I have all of my classes everyday, the same time (each an hour and 10 minutes long), except for my after school class which is every other day.

My first class was English with Mrs.Kavmark. It was good. Mrs.Kavmark just went through the books we are going to read this summer, then we did a name game thingy also, which had to do with teamwork...

After English I head over to the SH hall for US history with Ms.Holt. She explained to us what we were going to be studding for about five minutes then went right into teaching us. We talked about what makes up the us, we also talked about slaves, and that time in our history, and we even got to watch a filmI am just happy that I got a history teacher that is good at what she teaches.

Guess what, we actually have lunch at A decent time now, it's at 11 (till 11:30)!!! I am so glad. I looked around the commons area today, and there is like no one in 7th and 8th grade! I think Mr.Hull said there was only about 50 7th graders. TO me it looks like there is only about 60 8th graders... There is like no one there anymore!

Then I have science with Mr.Powell. He seems pretty cool. It doesn't seem like his class will be hard though, as long as you do your work and participate. Which isn't that like every class?Then my last core class of the day was math, and I am SO happy because they changed me into Mr. Jett's math class. There are only about 5 kids in the class, and Daylin and I are the only girls, and the only 8th graders... I was SO relieved to know that I got a good math teacher, better yet I got Mr.Jett, the guy who knows where I'm at in math I actually had such a fun time in math, so I hope it stays like that!

Then today I had Environmental science after school with the teacher I've been waiting for all day long, Mr. Hull!!!!! It was so nice to be back in that classroom, so many memories. It was like the only same thing from last year. It felt so nice to talk to him. It was like I jut saw him yesterday though, so nice. I am very glad that he still teaches there. I had such a fun class period in that class. I also figured out that I actually like environmental science, it's very interesting!

Then tomorrow after school I am a TA for Mrs.Kavmark's creative writing class.

Reflections

This is the last week of summer vacation of 2010. 

Reflecting back on this summer I have had a lot of cool experiences, and I have also learned a lot. 

Lets take a brief trip back into the past of some of the things I have learn and also done this summer.

At the very beginning of this summer (the first week to be exact) I went to stake girls camp in Heber Vally. Well I remember I got there late because I went to the tutor training. I enjoyed girls camp, but I remember that a lot of people got sick and we never had all of our leaders there at one time. My favorite part besides testimony meeting was our "Value Walk" I had a neat experience. 

Every Tuesday and Thursday I went to the Literacy Center and tutored kids in Math. I think that my most favorite part of the summer was tutoring. I met a lot of great kids who just needed a bit of help. It's fun to see some of the kids come into the room excited to Lear, even if it is nine in the morning. I learned how to teach kids, and I also learned how to be more patient. I think the hardest thing I had to do was to tutor four different kids, all on different levels at the same time. Even though it was hard, I got through it, and from my understanding, all of those kids understood what they needed to. I love it when I was tutoring, and the kid was having a hard time understanding the lesson, so you work more on that topic with them and all of a sudden they understand it. It is the best feeling, not just for that student but for Me, because its just like a 

"well done". I have had so many cool experiences in that place. 

Every Monday I did a craft camp at my house. It was so fun to interact with the kids, and see how their minds worked. I didn't make much money off of it but i did have a super fun time. It was fun to see the girls decorate their flip-flops, and now I see them wear their flip-flops around the neighborhood. I also liked when the kids made the plates. You can learn a lot about kids by what they draw on a blank piece of paper. 

I also was in the Lehi Parade as a Pioneer, for the Hutchings museum. I remember I was SO hot.

I also had my Math dilemma, and I finally got a math book and only got like 1/2 way through! ):

We had Heather's baptism on July 10thh. We had family come up for that from California, and we had a fun dinner afterwards.

We went camping on the week of July 11th, and we are also going camping tomorrow with the Ross's. Which ya, camping isn't my favorite, but I  will take it in while it lasts, like my motto, "Carpe Diem, Seize the day!"

I also went to California this summer. I relearned how to surf, and I dug people up. I got to hang out with my cousins and my friend. I also went to Disneyland. 

1 and 1/2 weeks ago I went to Youth Conference, and had a blast as log with a spiritual time. I learned how to truly forgive others. I had such a great time listening to story's of miracles. 

I have also babysat a lot, which is also always fun for me. I love kids!!! 

I don't have time to post everything I did and learned, but that was just some of it.

I can't believe how fast this summer has gone by, I will say that a lot, but I am WAY excited for the new school year.

My aunt Erin took her out yesterday so my parents could enjoy there anniversary. I guess she put her glasses on tiffany and wala, there's one cute girl. I have a picture of me like that too, but I am going to be a lazy bum and not go downstairs, find it, and then scan it, because Instead I am going to sit on this chair and write some more! :p

schedule

So I got my schedule today and I also got my locker. My locker # is 147, so it is like one of the very last ones at the very end of the hall, but It's a top locker, so I won't complain.

They also messed up my schedule, so I changed that today. I won't get it until the first day of school though. I am glad that I know what I have though. My school is weird, so on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays are A days. Tuesday and Thursdays are B days. I have the same classes on A days and B days, except my last period, which is an extra period. Want to hear my schedule? Well I'm going to tell you anyways :)

So my fist period starts at 8:30, and goes until 9:40. I have English for first, with Mrs.Kavmark.

I had Mrs.Kavmark last year, so I know what she is like.

My second period goes from 9:45 to 10:55. For second period I have US history with Ms.Holt. She is nice. I haven't had her for any classes, but She is in charge of the whole student council, so I have worked with her before.

Then we have a half hour lunch which is shorter then last year...

For third period I have Algebra 1 which is from 11:35 until 12:45. I don't know my teacher yet, but I am hoping for Mr.Jett, who was my teacher last year.

Then I go to fourth period from 12:50 till 2:00. I have Science with Mr.Powell. I only had him for one day as a science teacher, then I switched classes last year, but I have heard he's pretty relaxed...

Then you can choose to go home or take another class, so I chose to stay later and take an extra class.

SO for my last period, I have different classes on A day and B day.

On A days (A-5) from 2:05 until 3:00 I have Environmental science. I absolutely love science so I wanted to take it! after I signed up I heard that one of my favorite teachers was teaching it, so even better (: I hope I will learn a lot in that class.

On B days (B-5) from 2:05 till 3:00 I am a T.A. for Mrs.Kavmark, the 7th and 8th grade English teacher, and she is also the creative writing teacher. SO I hope that will also be fun.

I can't believe school is starting in 11 days! That thought is just crazy. It's sure fun to see people though. It's extra fun because at my school everyone knows everyone, and so they all know me by name, and I know them all by name. Like it was fun, I saw Mr.Shank (the Vise. Principal) and he already started teasing me. I am just glad that he hasn't met papa, or else I would be teased like crazy with both of them (:

I am not so excited for all of that homework, but actually in a way I am. I have all of my books, and paper and stuff all in my backpack and locker all ready to go, so I am ready as ever though.

I am so excited.

My cousin from Arizona started e two days ago, so I am sure ready!

Benjamin and heather get to meet there teachers next Friday (even though they have already met them!~)

I guess what I want to ask you is

No Weekend

I havn't even been home for a week, then cobam!  I'm leaving again. Today at three I am leaving for Youth Conference. We won't be home till Saterday Evening, so It's going to be crazy. I also have tutoring today, and I have to do some things around my school, how fun...

Tuesday

SO on Tuesday last week I hung out will my BFF and then went swimming at the school I wish I could always go to (T.O. high School) Later that night we went out to dinner with our good friend Ken Walker. That was sure fun to see him and talk to him. When we went back to the house we all went onto grandma and grandpa's bed and watched minute to win it. What a fun day we had.

Yesterday

SO yesterday I hung out with Emily Krahn, we went out to lunch at the Habit. I also went to the T.O. pool and swam for an hour. Then we went out to Dinner with our good friend Ken Walker, at a place called Reds. It was SO good.

So yes we've been VERY Busy.

Today

Well, I know here today it is only like 10:00 but I'll post right now, then later. 

SO My knees are driving me CRAZY today because of yesterday, but I believe that yesterday was worth it...

I am planning to hand out with Emily Krahn today in like a hour, so that's got to be fun. I don't know what else so I guess Ill talk to you all later!

DISNEYLAND!

SO yesterday we went to Disneyland!!!!! I had a blast. I will explain everything once I get home because we have TONZ of pictures, so I guess I'll leave it there (:

Monday....

So monday my cousins let from Arizona. I was sad, but I will see them next year I guess. but after that my grandpa took my family and I to the movies! WE got to go see Rimona and Beezus. I REALY enjoyed that movie. It was cute and VERY clean, there was NOTHING in it. I would give it 4 and 1/2 stars!!!! It's that good! My brother even liked it!! 

    After that we went to this really yummy California place called, "The Hat". Yummy! But that wasn't even the best part, after that we went to Rite-Aid and got the TWO LAST cartons of my favorite ice cream ever, Chocolate malted crunch!!!!!!!!!! I wish they had that ice cream in Utah!

So that was my day Monday.

The Beach!

The beach was fun. The water wasn't cold, and the weather was also nice....

Family is so fun. Well Today I am just hanging out with family. It was fun to see old people we all knew and loved!

Yesterdays 12 hrs

So yesterday we took a REALY long trip To California. It took atleaast 12 hours. With a 7 seat van and 7 people in my family it was REALY crowded. Well we have story's to tell. One of our things we've seen which is that We were rin STOP traffic for about 45 minutes. People were getting out of their cars and tried to see what was happening. It was about 101 degrees outside. No one could realy see what wazs happepning. All we could see was realy bad black smoke. Oncce the 45 minutes were up we drove by a burnt car. It had a trailer in the back of it the had not an even a smuge of black on it. Truley a maricle. And the guy who's car was on fire didn't hurt anything except his wrist! WOW!
                               We had a very long trip!
Oh and another very funny story, We had to go through an fruit checking place and It was hillarious becauase my mom was like yess, we do have apples, and so the guy wanted to see them. So my mom had to get the apples out, and the apples were on the bottom of everything, so it took like a lot of time for mom to find the apples!
Well I got to go, because we're going to the beach in a few minutes :)

Good Story...

So, Sister Allen gave the lesson in YW's today and read us this cool story she found. I really liked it so I wanted to share it with you. If you like something you usually share it right? Well actually not always but still here u go.

"A professor stood before his Philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly.

The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of juice from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, " I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

"The golf balls are the important things - your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.

"The sand is everything else-the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls."

The same goes for life.

"If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Friday...

So, Friday I'm going to California!!! How exciting. We are staying for about a week. I'm SO excited!! That Saturday We are having a family reunion at the beach. Then I think it is on like Monday we are going to DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!! Im so excited! that week I will also get to see my Best Friend Emily Krahn. I am glad that I get to see her. I miss her like crazy. I will also get to spend time with my cousins which is always, well usually always fun long lasting memories.

I am SO excited!!!!!!!!!

Also we will go to the beach a lot!! When we come back I am going to be SO tan! YAY!!! Happy! Im getting excited!

CALIFORNIA HERE I COME!!!

Almost Gone...

This Summer is almost gone.  just a few more weeks left. So much has been done, and there is still much more to do. For me it seems like I had school just yesterday. The memories and feelings are still very clear. I c an still see me and my friend skipping down the hallway down to Mrs. Hancock's room during mentoring. I can still hear Mr.Nettlton teasing Josh, I have a lot of other very clear memories still in my head. 

I am excited to go back to school, but nothing is going to be the same. No Mr.Nettlton, No Shayn, No Mrs.Hancock, No Alyssa, No 7th grade, No Mr.Hancock, and more of the things that made the school year great aren't going to be there when I come back. 

What am I going to do? I guess I'm just going to take things one step at a time. To look on the bright side, I will still have Jourdan E. and Mr.Hull.... So a friend and a teacher... WOW don't like to think about it. But it's like half of me wants to stay, and the other part of me wants to go to Vista. Who knows, I guess I'll stay at Rockwell till it gets really bad...

I am so excited to smell those school smells. I miss tons of things.

Who knows what will end up happening though.

SO clean...

A nice warm shower is so satisfying after a 3 day camping trip!

I felt SO gross!

I love showers!

I now feel So clean! 

D&C 90:24

In D&C 90:24 it says, 

"Search diligently, pray always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good, if ye walk uprightly and remember the covenant where with ye have covenanted one with another."

I really like this scripture. It reminds me that If we follow the commandments of God and are doing good everything will work out for our own good.

I love this scripture. When I am having a bad day I can just remember that Everything is going to be ok. 

So I am glad for this Promise that Heavenly Father has given me and you.

I love this church so much and am greatful to be apart of it. I am glad that I have the BOM, in my hand so I can read it and learn, And I know that every single thing in there is true, I have not a single doubt in my body. I am so grateful that I have a testimony of this church. I am grateful that Joseph Smith prayed to ask the lord which church was true. I know that If we have a question we can also go to the lord and ask him, and he will answer.

Camping!

Hey all,

Im going camping next week!

Monday Tuesday and we are leaving Wednesday.

I was sort of mad that we were going but once I found out we were going with the Ross's I was happy.

Ellie ross is my age, so it is nice 2 have her around while camping.

WE are staying in our own little tent, and probably not sleeping. We will stay up all night long watching movies,, playing games, and talking. FUN FUN FUN!!!

I am SO excited! 

Special Day

So Yesterday was Heathers baptism. It seems like just yesterday since my baptism, Well maybe not, but still. I remember my baptism very clearly. 

Heather got to get baptised with her best friend Leah Allen, also our neighbor.

My mom worked SO hard on heather's dress!

It's here then it's not

You never know what you have untill it is gone. Sometimes you do have an idea of what you have, but you don't some what fully know what you have untill it is gone. And sometimes you wish what you have right there would be gone, but when It is gone you wish it was back. You should be grateful for what you have. Don't take things for granted. You should be thankful for what you have, even your trials. Trials help us, and are the reason we are here. Trials help us learn a lot. It's like you wouldn't know what sweet tastes like if you've never tasted Bitter.

So back to what i was saying. 

I must say I'm not the best at seeing all I have, But this past year I think I have been better at it. Then when It's gone I really want it back, so I just hope that all of you try to see what you have.

Time...

Time is a very weird thing. It can go SO slow, or it can race by faster then light.
i don't always like how time works, sometimes I wish it would race by faster, and then once it does, I wish It would have gone by slower.
Don't dwell in the past, and don't always dream about the future (if you do you won't have one).But Don't get me wrong it's great top think about your future, but PLEASE don't do that 24/7!
We should all just enjoy where we are now, and take in every second. Because before we no it it's gone and over.

She's growing up so much!

Her baptism is this Saturday. She is SO excited.

She is going to have the prettiest dress ever

Well because my mom is making it.

So I hope she will have a great year.

Artist in the house

SO, Tiffany pulls out paper and paint, and a paintbrush out all by herself and tries to paint. What a smart little girl. She'll also take a pencil and white paper and start to draw. She will also take out crayons and a coloring book and start to color by her self to. We now have an artist in our family!

SO WE HAD THIS OLD pie, and My Mom Took Benjamin outside and shoved it in his face!!! Then I took the rest of it and also shoved it in his face!!!

Lehi Parade

So last Saturday my brother and I were in the Lehi parade. We were on the Hutchings museum float. I was a pioneer and Benjamin was a cowboy. It was SO hot!!!

We had such a fun float with drums, and dancing, and singing, and shooting. SO FUN!!!
